Frost

An eerie stillness
Like the World skipped a beat
The cold leeches in
Through the soles of my feet

Hoar frost glistens
A myriad of tiny lights
Mother Nature’s gift
From the dark twinkling night

Alone in my thoughts
My breath clouds the air
Brightening in the East
As dawn announces it's there

Sun breaks the horizon
Misty tendrils greet the sight
Shimmering hazy sunbeams
Push back the freezing night
