Guilt

There are no words that I can say
To take the pain and guilt away
You did your best you gave her love
But sadly that was never enough
She knew you cared so special at the end
And in that moment you were her friend
You held her hand as the darkness came
As she left this life to begin again
In a different time and a different place
A vague recollection across time and space
But next time you hear a tiny baby cry
It just might be her trying to say 'Hi!'
